Death Note

I wanted to tell you about a very popular manga/ anime that most you will know. It is called Death Note and it is about Light, a bright student that stumbles across a mystical notebook that has a power to kill any person whose name he writes in it. The notebook belongs to a shinigami, Ryuk. Light decided to launch a secret crusade to rid streets of criminals. Soon, the student-turned-vigilante finds himself pursued by a famous FBI criminal profile known only by the alias L.

Rules of the Death Note
I definitely recommend you to either watch it or read it. If you are going to watch it then there are 37 episodes altogether. They made a few live movies to accompany the series, because a lot of people wanted to more, you see.

Character Profile

Light Yagami is a bored young genius who is dissatisfied with the Japanese justice system. When he finds the Death Note, he uses it to kill criminals in large numbers. His goal is to create a "pure world" without evil, which he intends to rule over as "the god of the new world". The name Kira , derived from the English word killer, is quickly popularized, as people start to deify the source of this tide of judgment.

L Lawliet, known solely as L, is the world's greatest detective. He takes on the task of tracking down and arresting Kira. His disheveled appearance and odd behavior belie his genius. He lives in solitude, and only his manager Watari is able to contact him directly. L suspects that Light is Kira almost from the beginning, but cannot confirm his suspicions until his dying moments, when a victorious Light secretly reveals the truth.

Ryuk is a bored Shinigami that drops a Death Note, a notebook that allows you to kill anyone simply by knowing their name and face, into the human world in order to have fun. It is picked up by Light Yagami, a young genius who uses it in an attempt to create and rule a world "cleansed of evil" as "God".
